Ribbon Twist

This week's necklace is Ribbon Twist. The inspiration for this piece occurred in Bodega, CA this past summer. I was there doing a Art & Seafood show and was placed next to this artist who made copper whirly-gigs that you hang out on your porch and wind spins it around.
They hung this one piece between our booths that had a crystal ball set on top of the twisted copper which looked like it was moving down the edge of the copper when the wind caught and twirled it.
After spending several days looking at this piece, I came back to my studio and created Ribbon Twist. I took fine silver and coiled it to make the metal look like a silver ribbon wrapped around a fresh water pearl. This is one of my favorite pieces and has inspired me to make more pieces like this including earrings and mix metal pieces that will be ready and on the web soon. As always I am also happy to make one for you with your choice of pearl or stone.
This piece is available on my website
