Matthew and I just got back from San Diego Fine Arts Show. It was a great show with so many nice people. I showed many of my new pieces at the show and they were a hit.
I am posting one of my new designs here "Three Sisters" . I named this piece to represent the unique relationship between three sisters and my position as the middle sister. On the necklace the middle disk slides from one side to the other. I felt this represents my relationship with my sisters. Sometimes I feel closer to my older sister and then at other times I feel closer to my younger sister. Being a middle sister is a unique position. In the middle, I always felt like the bridge between my sisters. When I made this piece I had to decide whether or not to anchor the middle disk. I decided to let it float between the two small disks as I loved the movement. The disks are imprinted with a swirls pattern to further represent the movement in the piece. The disks are made from fine silver and the chain is sterling silver.
